“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9
I mentioned yesterday that one of the reasons people don’t share the Gospel is they are afraid they will mess it up and the person won’t believe. It’s understandable since so much in our lives either succeeds or fails based on our work. Someone receiving faith, however, is not one of them.
Faith is a gift of God. It isn’t earned. It isn’t chosen. It isn’t reasoned. It is purely the work of the Holy Spirit.
So, you can relax. You aren’t responsible for creating faith in someone’s heart. You couldn’t if you wanted to. That’s totally God’s domain. Simply share the Gospel and pray. Then, leave the results to God.
Today: Rest in the knowledge that faith is God’s work, not yours.
In Christ’s Service,
Pastor Kurt
