Why do we trust in Jesus? We trust Him because He always keeps His promises.
We often make promises and sometimes we break our promises. Sometimes this is because we are not being trustworthy. Other times, we fully intend and try to keep the promise, but we simply can’t. We don’t have the money or we couldn’t get away from work or we simply didn’t have the ability in the end.
How many movies have we seen where there was a scary and dangerous situation and an adult tell a child, “Everything will be alright.” or “I won’t let anything bad happen to you.” It can be comforting, but ultimately, they often aren’t really able to keep that promise.
God always keeps His promises both because He is infinitely trustworthy, always telling the truth and because He is almighty. Nothing can stop Him from keeping His promises. He’ll never run out of money, never get stuck at work, and is more than able.
In the first chapter of John, we see that all things were created through Him. In Colossians 1:7, we see that Jesus is before all things and in Him, all things are held together. We can always trust Jesus because He is trustworthy and He is Mighty God.
