Let's Gather for Worship

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.” – Psalm 95:6-7

Tomorrow is Sunday. Where will you worship? Will you worship? With whom will you worship?

Let’s take a little time, today, to worship God by ourselves. Take a few minutes to think of the ways He has blessed you and all of us. Be specific. Praise His Name as you do it.

(Praise God and remember His great blessings in your life.)

Personal Worship
Anytime can be a great time to worship God. Morning, evening, or any time in between, even the middle of the night. You may be driving, on a coffee break, or sitting on the couch. You may sing or read the Bible or pray or do it all. It’s a great thing to do.

Gathering for Worship
Personal worship is awesome, but our life of worship is not meant to be solely personal. Jesus has created the church so we can gather for worship, encourage one another, and walk together.

God is relational and He has designed us to be relational. We see this from the very beginning.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” – Genesis 1:1-2

“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” – Genesis 1:26

“Then the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.'” – Genesis 2:18

We see the Trinity in Genesis. God is, by His very nature, relational, Father, Son, and Spirit. When He created Adam, He also created Eve to be with him, because it was not good for Adam to be alone. This is true for us, too.

So, we gather.

We gather for worship. We gather for ministry. We gather for support. We gather to love and be loved.

Triune God,

You show us what it is to truly be in relationship with each other and with You. I will forever praise Your name, myself, but I will also forever gather with my brothers and sisters in Christ to worship You.

Amen.

In Christ’s Service,

Pastor Kurt
