Welcome

Opening Song: Holy, Holy, Holy

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty:
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee.
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty,
God in three persons blessed Trinity.

Holy, holy, holy, all the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea.
Cherubim and Seraphim falling down before Thee,
Which wert and art and evermore shall be.

Holy, holy, holy, though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see,
Only Thou art holy there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty,
God in three persons blessed Trinity.
God in three persons blessed Trinity.                                             © Public Domain

Invocation

Confession and Forgiveness:
P:
Come into the presence of God. It is God, Himself, who bids us to come to Him in prayer, especially when we have sinned, so that we may receive His forgiveness. So, we enter His courts with confidence that if we confess our sins, He will forgive us as He promised.

P: We take a moment to reflect on our lives and confess our sins.

(a time of silence to reflect and personally confess our sins)

P: Let us confess our sins together to the Lord.
C: Heavenly Father, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. We have not loved you with our whole heart and have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ and His suffering and death on the cross, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

P: The Lord our God is merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. Therefore I announce unto you the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. In His stead and by the command of my Lord Jesus Christ, I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen.

Song of Praise and Thanksgiving: King Of Kings

In the darkness we were waiting, without hope, without light,
Till from heaven You came running. There was mercy in Your eyes.
To fulfil the law and prophets, to a virgin came the Word;
From a throne of endless glory to a cradle in the dirt.

Chorus:
Praise the Father, Praise the Son, Praise the Spirit, Three in One!
God of glory, Majesty. Praise forever to the King of Kings!

To reveal the kingdom coming and to reconcile the lost,
To redeem the whole creation, You did not despise the cross.
For even in your suffering You saw to the other side.
Knowing this was our salvation, Jesus, for our sake, You died

Chorus:
Praise the Father, Praise the Son, Praise the Spirit, Three in One!
God of glory, Majesty. Praise forever to the King of Kings!

And the morning that You rose all of heaven held its breath,
Till that stone was moved for good; for the Lamb had conquered death.
And the dead rose from their tombs. And the angels stood in awe,
For the souls of all who’d come to the Father are restored.

And the church of Christ was born. Then, the Spirit lit the flame.
Now this Gospel truth of old shall not kneel, shall not faint.
By His blood and in His name, in His freedom, I am free;
For the love of Jesus Christ who has resurrected me.

Chorus (2x):
Praise the Father, Praise the Son, Praise the Spirit, Three in One!
God of glory, Majesty. Praise forever to the King of Kings!
Praise the Father, Praise the Son, Praise the Spirit, Three in One!
God of glory, Majesty. Praise forever to the King of Kings!

Old Testament Reading – Genesis 1:1-2, 1:26-2:4

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.

Epistle Reading – Acts 2:14, 22–36

But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. For David says concerning him,

“‘I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken; therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; my flesh also will dwell in hope. For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’

“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

“‘The Lord said to my Lord, …. “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.”’

Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.

Gospel Reading – Matthew 28:16-20

Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

P: This is the Gospel of the Lord.
C: Praise be to You, O Christ.

Children’s Message

Sermon Song: Glory be to God the Father

Glory be to God the Father, glory be to God the Son,
Glory be to God the Spirit great Jehovah, Three in One!
Glory, glory while eternal ages run!

Glory be to him who loved us,
washed us from each spot and stain;
Glory be to him who bought us, made us kings with him to reign!
Glory, glory to the Lamb that once was slain!

Glory to the King of angels,
glory to the Church’s King,
Glory to the King of nations;
heav’n and earth your praises bring!
Glory, glory, to the King of glory sing!

Glory, blessing, praise eternal!
Thus, the choir of angels sings;
Honor, riches, pow’r, dominion!
Thus, its praise creation brings.
Glory, glory, glory to the King of kings!                                © Public Domain

Sermon – Trinity Sunday: “Go in the Name”

Prayers

Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen

Closing Song Lyrics: This I Believe

Our Father everlasting, the all creating One, God almighty,
Through Your Holy Spirit conceiving Christ the Son,
Jesus our Savior.

Chorus:
I believe in God our Father. I believe in Christ the Son.
I believe in the Holy Spirit. Our God is three in one.
I believe in the resurrection, that we will rise again.
For I believe in the name of Jesus.

Our Judge and our Defender, suffered and crucified,
Forgiveness is in You.
Descended into darkness, You rose in glorious life,
Forever seated high.

(Chorus)

Bridge
I believe in You. I believe You rose again.
I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. (Repeat x2)

Chorus 2
I believe in life eternal. I believe in the virgin birth.
I believe in the saints’ communion and in Your holy church.
I believe in the resurrection, when Jesus comes again.
For I believe in the name of Jesus.
For I believe in the name of Jesus.                             © 2014 © Hillsong Music Publishing (Admin. by EMI Christian Music Publishing)
