There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Video Notes:
Jesus received the punishment for our sin so that we in Christ are spared both the verdict and the punishment.
Romans 6:11 – “in Christ Jesus”
This happen in your baptism, which is what Romans 6:1-11 is all about. “I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 6:3 – “into His death”
Romans 6:4 – “buried with Him”
Romans 6:5 – “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.”
Galatians 3:27 – “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”
Isaiah 61:10 – “I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”
For all who are in Christ, which happens at your baptism, nothing can condemn you. Sin can’t condemn you because our old sinful self died with Christ. The Law can’t condemn you because Jesus removed your sin and clothed you in His righteousness.
