All Hail the King!

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.” – 1 Chronicles 29:11

What do you have to praise God for, today?

I’ve seen a few movies where some being was demanding that people worship them or praise them and you find out the being needed the praise to gain strength or to live. (Yeah, I’ve watched some strange movies.)

It may sound a little strange, but as a pastor I’ve been asked if God wants us to worship Him for the same reason, does He need our worship and praise to survive or grow stronger?

No.

God doesn’t need our worship or praise. He is almighty with or without our praise. He is eternal with or without our praise.

So, why do we praise God?

We praise Him because He deserves to be praised. He created us and sustains our lives. He is the King above all kings. He provides for us. When we rebelled against Him, He showed us mercy and sent His Son to die in our place so we could be forgiven and made right with God again.

This is just a short list. We could go on and on and on. We praise God because He is worthy to be praised!

Take a few minutes to think about what God has done for you, both things He does for all of us and things He has done in Your life, personally. Then praise Him for it.

Almighty God,

You alone are worthy of all praise! I praise Your name.

Amen!

In Christ’s Service,

Pastor Kurt
