In Matthew 9 Jesus talked to His disciples about “the harvest.” These were people who needed the Gospel and would receive faith.
“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” – Matthew 9:37-38
He told them there are a lot of people out there who need see God’s love and hear the Gospel, but not many people doing it. So, they should pray that God would send people to do that. That’s how Matthew 9 ends.
Matthew 10, then, starts with Jesus sending the disciples to share His love and proclaim the Gospel. I wonder if the disciples realized as they were praying for God to send laborers, they were praying for themselves.
Yesterday, we prayed for people who need Jesus. You can keep doing that today as well, but today, also pray that God would send laborers, including you, to share His love and Good News with others.
Today: Pray that He would give you opportunities to show his love and share the Gospel.
