Where can you go?

If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.” – Psalm 139:9-10

Have you ever tried to run away from God?

Adam and Eve did. Jonah did. Many people have.

Has it ever worked?

Nope.

Wherever we go, God is there. He’s everywhere. So, you can’t run away from God to avoid discipline, but you also can’t go so far that He can’t protect you and care for you.

One of the more frightening moments in my life as a parent was when I went whitewater rafting and my father and daughter fell out of our boat on a class 4 rapid. I wanted to be right there with them to help. I had to remind myself that God was still with them and He is infinitely more capable of helping them that I was.

What a comfort to know God never leaves us. He always goes with us. He always protects us and provides for us. He’ll never leave us nor forsake us.

What does it mean to you to know God is always there and will never leave you?

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for never leaving me. Thank You for caring for me and even for disciplining me. Hold me fast in the faith until that day that You return and bring me home with You, forever.

Amen

In Christ’s Service,

Pastor Kurt

The Other Six is a short, daily devotional blog post. You can use these posts for personal devotions, however, I’m also going to write them in such a way that you could use them for family devotions. I’ll include a Bible verse, questions and/or discussion points, and a closing prayer. I highly encourage you to do these devotions with your family or friends if possible.
