Confession and Forgiveness:
P: As we gather, today, let us cleanse our hearts and our consciences by confessing our sin to God.
(a time of silence to reflect and personally confess our sins)
C: Heavenly Father, we confess that we are sinful and unclean. We have sinned against you and against our neighbor in our thoughts, words, and actions. We are truly sorry for our sins and sincerely repent of them. We ask for Your mercy. For the sake of Jesus Christ’s bitter suffering and death, please forgive us and renew us that we may walk in Your Spirit to the glory of Your holy name.
P: The Lord has heard your confession. Therefore, as a called and ordained servant of the Lord, in the stead and by the command of my Lord, Jesus Christ, I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen
Old Testament Reading – Proverbs 8:1-4, 22-31
Does not wisdom call?
Does not understanding give her voice?
On the heights beside the way,
at the crossroads she takes her stand;
beside the gates in front of the town,
at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud:
“To you, O men, I call,
and my cry is to the children of man…
…“The Lord had me at the beginning of his work,
before his acts of old.
From eternity I was set up,
at the first, before the beginning of the earth.
When there were no depths I was brought forth,
when there were no springs abounding with water.
Before the mountains had been shaped,
before the hills, I was brought forth,
before he had made the earth with its fields,
or the first of the dust of the world.
When he established the heavens, I was there;
when he set down the vault on the face of the deep,
when he made firm the skies above,
when he established the fountains of the deep,
when he assigned to the sea its limit by His decree,
so that the waters might not transgress his command,
when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
then I was beside him, like a master craftsman,
and I was daily his delight,
rejoicing before him always,
rejoicing in his inhabited world
and delighting in the children of man.
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.
Gospel Reading – John 8:48–59
The Jews answered him, “Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon? Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon, but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me. Yet I do not seek my own glory; there is One who seeks it, and he is the judge. Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.” The Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon! Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say, ‘If anyone keeps my word, he will never taste death.’ Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets died! Who do you make yourself out to be?” Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ But you have not known him. I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and I keep his word. Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.” So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.
P: This is the Gospel of the Lord.
C: Praise be to You, o Christ.
Sermon – “The Triune God”
Prayers:
Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen
Benediction
Closing Song: Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow.
Praise Him all creatures here below.
Praise Him above, ye heavenly hosts.
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Amen
Want to Get Involved? (We want you to!)
During the pandemic, several key aspects of Faith had to be paused. It’s time to restart them. In particular, we need to restart the Growth Groups and regularly doing service and outreach activities.
We need your help to do this!
We are looking for volunteers to help in the follow ways:
- Coordinate a Service and Outreach Team
- Serve on a Service and Outreach Team
- Coordinate a Growth Group
- Participate in a Growth Group
- Serve as Stewardship Chair
If you would like to volunteer, please talk to Pastor Kurt.
Children’s Ministry Update
We are working to adjust and improve our children’s ministry. The plan is start having two groups. The elementary-aged kids will continue to meet in the smaller dance studio and have a Sunday school lesson. The pre-k and younger kids will go to the nursery where they will hear a Bible story, sing some songs, and play.
The elementary-aged kids would meet during the sermon on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of each month. The pre-k kids will meet every week.
We need Sunday school teachers and helpers for the elementary-aged kids, and helpers for the pre-k kids. Optimally it would be one adult and one youth (middle or high school) in each room. Our goal is to have enough volunteers to where each person only needs to volunteer once per month.
Please talk to Melissa or Terrell if you would like to volunteer.

Confession and Forgiveness:
P: We have come here today to worship the Lord. In worship we hear the Word of God, we receive God’s blessings, and respond with thanks and praise. We begin by seeking God’s blessing of forgiveness. He has promised to remove the guilt and shame of our sin through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.
(a time of silence to reflect and personally confess our sins)
P: Let us confess our sins to the Lord.
P: Heavenly Father,
C: Heavenly Father,
P: I have done things that were wrong.
C: I have done things that were wrong.
P: I have been mean to others.
C: I have been mean to others.
P: I have not obeyed my parents.
C: I have not obeyed my parents.
P: I have not obeyed You, God.
C: I have not obeyed You, God.
P: But I am very sorry.
C: But I am very sorry.
P: Please forgive me.
C: Please forgive me.
P: I love You very much.
C: I love You very much.
P: And I know You love me, too.
C: And I know You love me, too.
P: God has heard your apology. He loves you very much. God has told us that when we believe and trust in Him, He makes us His children. As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our sins from us. He has told me to tell you that you are forgiven. So, as His servant, I forgive you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen.
Song: Jesus Loves Me
Verse 1:
Jesus loves me this I know, For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong, They are weak, but He is strong.
Chorus:
Yes, Jesus loves me, Yes, Jesus loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me, The Bible tells me so.
Verse 2:
Jesus loves me, He who died. Heaven’s gates to open wide.
He will wash away my sin, Let His little child come in.
Chorus
First Reading – Genesis 11:1-9
There was a time when the whole world spoke one language. Everyone used the same words. Then people began to move from the East. They found a plain in the land of Babylonia and stayed there to live. Then they said to each other, “Let’s make some bricks of clay and bake them in the fire.” Then they used these bricks as stones, and they used tar as mortar.
Then the people said, “Let’s build ourselves a city and a tower that will reach to the sky. Then we will be famous. This will keep us together so that we will not be scattered all over the earth.”
Then the Lord came down to see the city and the tower. The Lord said, “These people all speak the same language. And I see that they are joined together to do this work. This is only the beginning of what they can do. Soon they will be able to do anything they want. Let’s go down and confuse their language. Then they will not understand each other.”
So people stopped building the city, and the Lord scattered them all over the earth. That is the place where the Lord confused the language of the whole world. That is why it is called Babel. And it was from there that the Lord caused the people to spread out to all the other places on earth.
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.
Children’s Message “The Tower of Babel”
Song: I See You
God of love, God of all glory, every day I see new mercy
Great is Your faithfulness
God of love, God of my story, You never fail.
You never forsake me
Great is Your faithfulness
Chorus:
I see You in the morning light. I feel You in the fire by night
I hear You say, “Child, I am with you. Everything will be alright.”
I see You in the tears that run. I feel You when the healing comes
I hear You say, “Beloved one, I am with you.”
Every moment of my life
I see You. I see You. I see You. God, I see You
God of love, God of new vision, Every blessing You have given
Great is Your faithfulness! Oh, how great is Your faithfulness
Chorus
I will worship through the storm,
Through the storm, Through the storm
All my hope is in You Lord, In You Lord, In You Lord
I see You in the morning light. I feel You in the fire by night
I hear You say, “Child, I am with you. Everything will be alright.”
Chorus
Second Reading – Acts 2:1-6
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a noise came from heaven. It sounded like a strong wind blowing. This noise filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw something that looked like flames of fire. The flames were separated and stood over each person there. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak different languages. The Holy Spirit was giving them the power to do this.
There were some godly Jews in Jerusalem at this time. They were from every country in the world. A large crowd came together because they heard the noise. They were surprised because, as the apostles were speaking, everyone heard in their own language.
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.
Children’s Message “All Heard In Their Own Language”
Sermon Hymn: WHoly Spirit Ever Dwelling
Holy Spirit, ever dwelling, In the holiest realms of light;
Holy Spirit, ever brooding, O’er a world of gloom and night;
Holy Spirit, ever raising, those of earth to thrones on high;
Living, life-imparting Spirit, You we praise and magnify.
Holy Spirit, ever living, As the Church’s very life;
Holy Spirit, ever striving, Through us in a ceaseless strife;
Holy Spirit, ever forming, In the Church the mind of Christ;
You we praise with endless worship,
For your gifts and fruits unpriced.
Holy Spirit, ever working, Through the Church’s ministry;
Quick’ning, strength’ning, and absolving,
setting captive sinners free;
Holy Spirit, ever binding, Age to age and soul to soul
In communion never ending, You we worship and extol.
Sermon – “What Does the Holy Spirit Do?”
Gospel Reading – John 14:23-31
Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me.
“These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe. I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me, but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here.

Into marvelous light I’m running, Out of darkness out of shame
By the cross you are the truth, You are the life You are the way

Your love it beckons deeply, a call to come and die
By grace now I will come. Take this life, take your life
Pre-Chorus:
Sin has lost its power, death has lost its sting
From the grave you’ve risen victoriously.

P: As we gather, today, let us cleanse our hearts and our consciences by confessing our sin to God.
(Time of silence for reflection and confession)
P: Today, we confess our sins by singing the song, “Lord, I Need You.”
Song of Confession: Lord, I Need You
Lord I come, I confess. Bowing here I find my rest
Without You, I fall apart. You’re the one that guides my heart
Chorus:
Lord, I need You, oh I need You. Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness, Oh God, how I need You
Where sin runs deep, Your grace is more.
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are Lord I am free. Holiness is Christ in me
Chorus:
Lord, I need You, oh I need You. Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness, Oh God, how I need You
So teach my song to rise to You When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I’ll fall on You.
Jesus You’re my hope and stay
Chorus
Lord, I need You, oh I need You. Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness, Oh God, how I need You

Song of Praise and Thanksgiving – All The People Said Amen
Verse 1:
You are not alone, if you are lonely
When you feel afraid, you’re not the only
We are all the same, in need of mercy
To be forgiven and be free
It’s all you got to lean on but thank God it’s all you need
Chorus:
And all the people said Amen, woah
And all the people said Amen
Give thanks to the Lord for His love never ends
And all the people said Amen (Last line repeated on last chorus)
Verse 2:
If you’re rich or poor, well it don’t matter
Weak or strong, you know love is what we’re after
We’re all broken, but we’re all in this together
God knows we stumble and fall
And He so loved the world, He sent His son to save us all
(Chorus)
Bridge:
Blessed are the poor in spirit who are torn apart
Blessed are the persecuted and the pure in heart
Blessed are the people hungry for another start
For this is the kingdom, the kingdom of God

Baptism – Luke William Strasheim
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen
First Reading – Acts 1:1-11
In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.
And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.
Second Reading – Ephesians 1:15-23
For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.
Children’s Message (Children dismissed to Children’s Church)
Gospel Reading – Luke 24:44-53
Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple blessing God.
P: This is the Gospel of the Lord.
C: Praise be to You, o Christ.
Sermon Hymn – The Church’s One Foundation
Verse 1:
The church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ, her Lord;
she is his new creation by water and the Word:
from heav’n he came and sought her to be his holy bride;
with his own blood he bought her, and for her life he died.
Verse 2:
Elect from ev’-ry nation, yet one o’er all the earth,
her charter of salvation one Lord, one faith, one birth;
one holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food,
and to one hope she presses, with ev’ry grace endued.
Verse 5:
Yet she on earth hath union with God the Three in One,
and mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won:
O blessed heav’nly chorus! Lord, save us by Your grace,
that we, like saints before us, may see You face to face.

The Importance of Social Media
With over 70% of the US population using some form of Social Media, It is important for Faith Lutheran Church to start utilizing Social Media more so that we can let people know we are out there, grow our congregation, and of course spread God’s Word.
So, I have decided to start posting things (hopefully on a daily basis) to our social media accounts from events such as…The Faith and Food Worship Service, Christmas in the Park, Bible studies, congregational get-togethers, youth events, etc…
We Need Your Help!
We need to show people that we as a church do more than just meet on Sundays for Worship. This is where I need your help. When you are at these events, please take pictures and/or videos and send them to me so I can post them on our Social Media.
If you have pictures from past events send those to me as well. Also, if you have ideas of other stuff we should post on Social Media please let me know.
Thank you!!

Welcome
Invocation
Confession and Forgiveness:
P: Come into the presence of the Lord our God.
C: Have mercy, O Lord. If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand; but if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(a time of silence to reflect and personally confess our sins)
P: I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin. Let us confess our sin before the Lord. Let us confess together.
C: Heavenly Father, we confess that we are sinners. We have sinned against you and our neighbors. We have not loved you with our whole heart and we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve Your punishment. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.
P: Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all your sins. Here the good news of Jesus Christ. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. Therefore, upon your confession, I announce to you that your sins and forgiven.
C: Amen
Song of Praise and Thanksgiving – Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Verse 1:
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father.
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not.
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.
Chorus:
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand has provided.
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.
Verse 2:
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness mercy and love.
(Chorus)
Verse 3:
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside.
(Chorus)
First Reading – Acts 16:9-15
And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” And when Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.
So, setting sail from Troas, we made a direct voyage to Samothrace, and the following day to Neapolis, and from there to Philippi, which is a leading city of the district of Macedonia and a Roman colony. We remained in this city some days. And on the Sabbath day we went outside the gate to the riverside, where we supposed there was a place of prayer, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had come together. One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul. And after she was baptized, and her household as well, she urged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” And she prevailed upon us.
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.
Second Reading – Revelation 21:9-14,21-27
Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed— on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb…
…And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.
Gospel Reading – John 5:1-17
After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, in Aramaic called Bethesda, which has five roofed colonnades. In these lay a multitude of invalids—blind, lame, and paralyzed. One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked.
Now that day was the Sabbath. So the Jews said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to take up your bed.” But he answered them, “The man who healed me, that man said to me, ‘Take up your bed, and walk.’” They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, as there was a crowd in the place. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.” The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him. And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.”
P: This is the Gospel of the Lord.
C: Praise be to You, o Christ.
Children’s Message
Sermon Hymn – Beautiful Savior
Beautiful Savior, King of creation,
Son of God and Son of man.
Truly I’d love Thee, Truly I’d serve Thee
Light of my soul, my joy, my crown.
Fair are the meadows. Fair is the woodlands
Robed in the flow’rs of blooming spring
Jesus is fairer. Jesus is purer.
He makes our sorrowing spirit sing
Beautiful Savior, Lord of the nations,
Son of God and Son of man.
Glory and honor, praise adoration,
Now and forevermore be Thine!
Sermon – “Jesus Still Healed Him”

Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God
the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen
Benediction
Closing Song – Go My Children With My Blessing
Verse 1:
Go, My children, with My blessing, Never alone.
Waking, sleeping, I am with you; You are My own.
In My love’s baptismal river I have made you Mine forever.
Go, My children, with My blessing, You are My own.
Verse 2:
Go, My children, sins forgiven, At peace and pure.
Here you learned how much I love you, What I can cure.
Here you heard My dear Son’s story; Here you touched Him, saw His glory.
Go, My children, sins forgiven, At peace and pure.
Verse 3:
Go, My children, fed and nourished, Closer to Me;
Grow in love and love by serving, Joyful and free.
Here My Spirit’s power-filled you; Here His tender comfort stilled you.
Go, My children, fed and nourished, Joyful and free.

Welcome
Opening Song: Thy Strong Word
Thy strong word did cleave the darkness;
At Thy speaking it was done.
For created light we thank Thee,
While Thine ordered seasons run.
Alleluia, alleluia! Praise to Thee who light dost send!
Alleluia, alleluia! Alleluia without end!
Lo, on those who dwelt in darkness,
Dark as night and deep as death,
Broke the light of thy salvation,
Breathed thine own life-giving breath.
Alleluia, alleluia! Praise to Thee who light dost send!
Alleluia, alleluia! Alleluia without end!
Thy strong Word be- speaks us righteous;
Bright with thine own holiness,
Glorious now, we press toward glory,
And our lives our hope con- fess.
Alleluia, alleluia! Praise to Thee who light dost send!
Alleluia, alleluia! Alleluia without end!
Give us lips to sing thy glory,
Tongues thy mercy to pro- claim,
Throats to shout the hope that fills us,
Mouths to speak thy holy name.
Alleluia, alleluia! Praise to Thee who light dost send!
Alleluia, alleluia! Alleluia without end!
Invocation
C: Amen
Song of Praise and Thanksgiving: No Other Name
One Name Holds weight above them all
His fame Outlasts the earth He formed
His praise Resounds beyond the stars
And echoes in our hearts The greatest One of all
His face Shines brighter than the sun
His grace As boundless as His love
He reigns With healing in His wings
The King above all kings The greatest One of all
Chorus:
Lift up our eyes See the King has come
Light of the world Reaching out for us
There is no other Name There is no other Name
Jesus Christ our God, whoa oh
Seated on high The undefeated One
Mountains bow down As we lift Him up
There is no other Name There is no other Name
Jesus Christ our God, whoa oh
Find hope When all the world seems lost
Behold The triumph of the cross
His power Has trampled death and grave
Our life found in His Name The greatest Name of all
Chorus
Bridge:
The earth will shake And tremble before Him
Chains will break As heaven and earth sing
Holy is the Name Holy is the Name of Jesus Jesus, Jesus
(Repeat Bridge)
Chorus
First Reading – Acts 20:17-18a, 28–35
Now from Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the church to come to him. And when they came to him, he said to them:…
…”Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears. And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified. I coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel. You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me. In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.
Gospel Reading – John 10:22-30
At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon. So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name bear witness about me, but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

Thank you!!

Worship Service for May 1, 2022 at 11 AM
Welcome
Opening Song: Christ Has Arisen, Alleluia
Verse 1:
Christ has arisen, alleluia. Rejoice and praise Him, alleluia.
For our Redeemer burst from the tomb,
Even from death, dispelling its gloom.
Refrain:
Let us sing praise to Him with endless joy;
Death’s fearful sting He has come to destroy.
Our sin forgiving, alleluia! Jesus is living, alleluia!
Verse 2:
For three long days, the grave did its worst
Until its strength by God was dispersed.
He who gives life did death undergo;
And in its conquest, His might did show.
(Refrain)
Verse 4:
Go spread the news: He’s not in the grave;
He has arisen this world to save.
Jesus’ redeeming labors are done; Even the battle with sin is won.
(Refrain)
Invocation
Chorus
First Reading – Psalm 139:13-14
For you formed my inmost parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

C: Thanks be to God.
Children’s Message “God Made You”
Song: The Hippopotamus Song
In the beginning God made the sea (make a wave motion)
And the forest filled with trees (wave your hands)
He made the mountains up so high (making a point with your hands)
Above it all He placed the sky (Motion like you are throwing the sky up)
God’s fingerprints are everywhere (touch things with your fingers)
Just to show how much He cares (hug yourself)
Along the way He had some fun (swoop your fist in front of you)
He made a hippo that weighed a ton (when you say “ton,” put your arms away from your sides making something look big)
Hip-Hip-Hippopotamus (same motion and use a deep voice)
Hip-Hip-Hurray, God made all of us (Wave your hands in the air and use a high voice, guys in falsetto)
Hip-Hip-Hippopotamus
Hip-Hip-Hurray, God made all of us
Second Reading – Ephesians 2:4-5
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.
Children’s Message “God Saved You”

Verse 1:
Who am I that the highest King Would welcome me
I was lost but He brought me in Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me
Chorus 1:
Who the Son sets free, Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God, Yes I am
Verse 2:
Free at last He has ransomed me His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me
Chorus 2:
Who the Son sets free, Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God, Yes I am
In my Father’s house, There’s a place for me
I’m a child of God, Yes I am
Bridge:
I am chosen Not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me Not against me
I am who You say I am
Gospel Reading – John 21:15–19
When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep. Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.” (This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, “Follow me.”
P: This is the Gospel of the Lord.
C: Praise be to You, o Christ.
Sermon Hymn: Canvas And Clay
Verse 1:
In my mother’s womb You formed me with Your hands
Known and loved by You Before I took a breath
Pre-Chorus 1:
When I doubt it, Lord, remind me I’m wonderfully made
You’re an artist and a potter I’m the canvas and the clay
Chorus:
You make all things work together For my future and for my good
You make all things work together For Your glory and for Your name
Verse 2:
There’s a healing light Just beyond the clouds
Though I’ve walked through fire I see clearly now
Pre-Chorus 2:
I know nothing has been wasted No failure or mistake
You’re an artist and a potter I’m the canvas and the clay

Verse 1:
I cast my mind to Calvary Where Jesus bled and died for me

His body bound and drenched in tears.
They laid Him down in Joseph’s tomb
The entrance sealed by heavy stone. Messiah still and all alone

O praise His Name forever more
For endless days, we will sing Your praise.

The blazing sun shall pierce the night
And I will rise among the saints, My gaze transfixed on Jesus’ face

Worship Service for April 24, 2022 at 11 AM
Welcome
Opening Song: I Know that My Redeemer Lives
I know that my Redeemer lives;
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, He lives, who once was dead;
He lives, my ever-living Head.
He lives triumphant from the grave;
He lives eternally to save;
He lives all-glorious in the sky;
He lives exalted there on high.
He lives and grants me daily breath;
He lives, and I shall conquer death;
He lives my mansion to prepare;
He lives to bring me safely there.
He lives, all glory to His name!
He lives, my Je – sus, still the same;
Oh, the sweet joy this sentence gives;
I know that my Redeemer lives!
I Know That My Redeemer Lives
Amen.
P: The God of our fathers raised Jesus, who was killed by being hung on a tree. God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to all His people and forgiveness of sins. Therefore, upon this, your confession, as a called and ordained servant of the Lord, in the stead and by the command of my Lord, Jesus Christ, I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen.
Song of Praise and Thanksgiving – King of Kings
In the darkness We were waiting Without hope Without light
Till from heaven You came running There was mercy in Your eyes
To fulfil the law and prophets To a virgin came the word
From a throne of endless glory To a cradle in the dirt
Chorus:
Praise the Father Praise the Son Praise the Spirit Three in one
God of glory, Majesty. Praise forever to the King of Kings
To reveal the kingdom coming And to reconcile the lost
To redeem the whole creation You did not despise the cross
For even in your suffering You saw to the other side
Knowing this was our salvation Jesus for our sake you died
(Chorus)
And the morning that You rose All of heaven held its breath
Till that stone was moved for good For the Lamb had conquered death
And the dead rose from their tombs And the angels stood in awe
For the souls of all who’d come To the Father are restored
And the church of Christ was born. Then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this gospel truth of old Shall not kneel, Shall not faint
By His blood and in His name In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ Who has resurrected me
(Chorus 2x)
First Reading – Revelation 1:4-18
John to the seven churches that are in Asia:
Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth.
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet saying, “Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.”
Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength.
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.
Gospel Reading – John 20:19-31
On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.

Sermon – “When Obeying God Over Man Isn’t So Obvious”
Sermon text Acts 5:12-32
Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon’s Portico. 13 None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem. 14 And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, 15 so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. 16 The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
17 But the high priest rose up, and all who were with him (that is, the party of the Sadducees), and filled with jealousy 18 they arrested the apostles and put them in the public prison. 19 But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, 20 “Go and stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this Life.” 21 And when they heard this, they entered the temple at daybreak and began to teach.
Now when the high priest came, and those who were with him, they called together the council, all the senate of the people of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. 22 But when the officers came, they did not find them in the prison, so they returned and reported, 23 “We found the prison securely locked and the guards standing at the doors, but when we opened them we found no one inside.” 24 Now when the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were greatly perplexed about them, wondering what this would come to. 25 And someone came and told them, “Look! The men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people.” 26 Then the captain with the officers went and brought them, but not by force, for they were afraid of being stoned by the people.
27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, 28 saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.” 29 But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. 30 The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. 31 God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
P: This is the Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.

Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God
the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Closing Song – Stand Up Stand Up for Jesus
Stand up, stand up for Jesus, Ye soldiers of the cross.
Lift high His royal banner; It must not suffer loss.
From vict’ry unto vict’ry His army He shall lead
Till ev’ry foe is vanquished, And Christ is Lord indeed.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus; The strife will not belong;
This day the din of battle, The next the victor’s song.
The soldiers, overcoming, Their crown of life shall see
And with the King of Glory Shall reign eternally.

Confession and Forgiveness:
P: Blessed be the Holy Trinity, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, whose rising from the empty tomb brings to us the promise of life eternal. And so, we confess together in the presence of the living God,
C: We confess that we set our minds towards things of this dying world, and not on the life that is revealed in Christ. Amen.
P: Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ proclaims, “Do not be afraid!” Know that you are washed anew in his rising, and your sins are forgiven. Be at peace, and live in the everlasting love of God. Amen!
C: Amen
Song of Praise and Thanksgiving: Christ Is Risen
Let no one caught in sin remain Inside the lie of inward shame
We fix our eyes upon the cross and run to Him who showed great love
And bled for us. Freely You’ve bled for us
Chorus:
Christ is risen from the dead, trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake, come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead, we are one with Him again
Come awake, come awake, come and rise up from the grave
Beneath the weight of all our sin You bowed to none but Heaven’s will
No scheme of Hell, no scoffer’s crown,
No burden great can hold You down
In strength, You reign. Forever let Your church proclaim
(Chorus)
O death, where is your sting? O hell, where is your victory?
O church, come stand in the light.
The glory of God has defeated the night!
O death, where is your sting? O hell, where is your victory?
O church, come stand in the light.
Our God is not dead. He is alive! He is alive!
(Chorus)
Old Testament Reading – Genesis 12:1-4
Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

Epistle Reading – 2 Corinthians 1:18-20
As surely as God is faithful, our word to you has not been Yes and No. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes. For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

Children’s Message
Gospel Reading – Luke 24:1-12
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” And they remembered his words, and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles, but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. But Peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home marveling at what had happened.

Forever, author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave. Jesus conquered the grave

Amen
